about

In this song, it can be assumed that Louise is a prostitute who is found dead in her hotel room. The recording was made live in one of Memphis's oldest bars, Earnestine & Hazels, which is known to have once been a brothel. It seemed like the right thing to do in make this song a moment of awareness in response to the horrible conditions of human trafficking. According to the US State Department, 600,000-800,000 people are trafficked across international borders every year, of which 80% are female and half are children. 14,500-17,500 of those people are estimated to be in the United States.

The average age a child enters the sex trade in the United States is 12-14 years old.

Human trafficking is the third largest international crime behind illegal drugs and arms trafficking.
