Targeted support needed for community radio

 

COVID-19 is accelerating pressure on local community radio stations to find ways to deliver key broadcast services efficiently and economically while finding a way to make more content remotely. Resources, staffing and volunteers, and revenue from sponsorship, donations and fundraising have all been impacted.

The CBAA is calling on the Federal Government to provide support across four target areas to ensure community radio stations across the country remain viable and can play their critical role during the pandemic.

Community broadcasters bring ANZAC to you


Stations are joining with their communities for special broadcasts and events for this year's ANZAC service. The Community Radio Network (CRN) is also making content available for stations to use.

Community radio gives renewed voice to bushfire victims


Thanks to partnerships with the Judith Neilson Institute and the Paul Ramsay Foundation who jointly funded a radio documentary series with the CBAA, From The EmbersThis is now available to broadcast through the CBAA's Community Radio Network (CRN).

Community radio joins #GivingTuesdayNow

#GivingTuesdayNow is a global day of generosity and unity, and a great way for community radio to harness grassroots generosity, listener engagement, business and philanthropy activation and community support. 

Many community radio stations have DGR or charitable status, which means you can raise funds. If you want to be involved in this international day of action, CBAA will provide you with a fundraising toolkit and support. A new website for Amrap

Coming soon! Amrap is launching a new website next month to give community broadcasters and Australian musicians an even easier way to download and share music to their listeners. 
 
AirIt will no longer by accessible after Tuesday 5th May and redirected to amrap.org.au. Contact amrap@cbaa.org.au as soon as possible.

Australian Music is Bloody Great is a radio show developed by the CBAA's Amrap team and delivered through the Community Radio Network. It features some of Australia's best-known artists and favourite sounds from around the country.

Stations can now access 14 National Multilingual CSAs, 20 Queensland Multilingual CSAs and 20 Victorian Multilingual CSAs via CBAA's Community Radio Network's delivery systems. You can access these CSA packages via this link.
