Johnny Ramos

Johnny Ramos is a Mexican-American singer/songwriter and actor from southern California. Johnny earned money as a child doing background acting into his teens, before he joined the Screen Actor’s Guild and joined a variety of local rock bands while still in high school.

Born and raised in Orange County, his musical palette is diverse, with his sets consisting of anything from blues to rockabilly to punk rock. Growing up on film sets, he also directs most of his music videos.

He released his solo debut EP, “Sun Kissed” in October of 2020, featuring 6 songs he wrote himself. In 2022 he released the self-produced Christmas EP, "Merry Baby" featuring Boogie Woogie Hall of Fame inductee Carl Sonny Leyland.

As a teen he played at the VH1 Art Hearts Fashion week and at the premier of Ron Howard’s Beatle documentary “Eight Days A Week” at the El Rey Theater. His next band saw him venture across the Atlantic to Italy to play the famous rockabilly festival, the Summer Jamboree.

Johnny has been invited to play at Viva Las Vegas by fellow Americana artist Big Sandy. He’s also opened for the likes of Cesar Rosas of grammy winning band Los Lobos, and the grammy winning Tex Mex act Los Texmaniacs and Americana legend James Intveld.

He has also shared the stage with Los Straitjackets, David Hidalgo of Los Lobos, and Kim Wilson of The Fabulous Thunderbirds. He has also traveled to the Netherlands to play The Flirting With The Blues Festival.

His childhood was a highly musical crashcourse as his father is renowned blues guitarist and producer, Kid Ramos. No stranger to production himself, Johnny has been producing music for acts as well such as the kid rock band, The Wong Quadruplets and pop punk band TI85.
